ROTARACT RULES PLANTABLES on a SUNDAY!! 16 (That's right SIXTEEN) fantastic St. Croix Valley Rotaract members got their hands a little wet and A LOT dirty this morning with workers Jessie, Kathy, Karen, Tony, and Matt. And boy they were super productive!! We made a record 400 BEE Bombs and 115 pieces of paper. Thank you Rotaract (and our crew too)!!!
University of Minnesota graduate student Kayley (pictured in center, seated). She came to volunteer earlier this week at our Hudson, WI warehouse all the way from IOWA (that's right, IOWA!) And not only did she travel such a long distance but she was AWESOME with the whole Plantables Crew! Thank you Kayley and all of the U of M students!!
It’s been a very BEE-sy week for Plantables. Like really BEE-sy!! For starters, we had the opportunity to be apart of Hudson’s annual Hot Air Affair last Saturday. We talked to many awesome people who came from very long distances about our business and we had fun selling Plantables merchandise too! And then, all week long, our worker bees have been making Tweet-Heart Treats (for our bird friends) and wildflower Bon Bombs for Valentine’s Day. And on Thursday, we were asked to explain the science of our Bee Bombs to young budding scientists at The Women in STEM+ open house at The Hudson Middle School. Wow, what an exciting week!!
PLANTABLES HAS JOINED THE BIG TEN!! All of us at Plantables are extremely excited to have graduate students from the University of Minnesota's Occupational Therapy program join the workers at our warehouse. We are so lucky to have such talented students come visit us to learn about the integration of adaptive equipment and natural supports in a workplace setting. We look forward to having a great partnership with the U of M's OT program in the coming years. Go Gophers! Pictured with worker Nick are students Kayla (left) and Roxie.
Follow our progress as we get this venture up and running.
