The wreath mascot, Rudy, is a tribute to Plantables' owner Jim's father. Rudy was passionate about feeding birds, and he had a special fondness for what some consider to be the "less desirable" birds. He would say to Jim, "Sparrows need to eat, too!" We see the sparrow as a metaphor for those in society who are under-appreciated or marginalized, and Rudy continues to inspire our mission.
